Bette Davis Eyes was written in 1974 by Donna Weiss and Jackie DeShannon but Carnes made it into a success when she recorded her version of it. It spent nine non-consecutive weeks on top of the U.S. Billboard Top 100 and over 8 million copies of the album on which it appeared were sold.
