Folk of the wood provides a good explanation of how to set up the fiddle, tune it etc. as well as providing some good beginner/intermediate lessons on specific tunes. It mostly focuses on bluegrass/traditional tunes such as red haired boy, whiskey before breakfast etc.

Funkychops.com offers bass lessons with a focus on slap bass and learning by ear.
The site offers some free audio and video samples of the lessons which look pretty good. The web version is $29.99 and the CD-ROM is $49.99.

Mandolin sessions is an excellent site for mandolin resources, including lessons, tips, interviews and tablatures.
There are a lot of good articles in the back issues, which go back to June 2003. The site includes articles, lessons and various tablatures.
